Plaquenil hydroxychloroquine is commonly used for lupus in children because of less side effects compared to other medications. Plaquenil hydroxychloroquine helps minimize joint damage. Overall Plaquenil did take away the muscle and joint pain. It worked wonders for that. For that reason I am satisfied with plaquenil for what I took it for. Took about 5-6 months to see full effect.
